Pain Management
The practice of high-quality veterinary medicine focuses on the entire patient – from medical issues that affect physical functioning to emotional and psychological issues that affect well-being. Experiencing pain can affect the body’s physical functioning. It can have a detrimental effect on a patient’s well-being and state of mind. That’s why pain management is among our primary considerations when treating a pet for any medical condition. From routine procedures (such as spays or dental cleanings) to more advanced medical treatments (such as bone surgeries or cancer treatments) to chronically painful conditions (such as arthritis or back pain), we are dedicated to providing safe and effective pain management to every patient. We will also help you recognize signs of pain in your pet so that we can modify their pain management plan when necessary. Recognizing and alleviating pain in our patients is at the very heart of quality, compassionate patient care. We don’t take pain management for granted and will employ all our skills to help ensure your pet’s comfort, well-being, and full recovery.
Therapeutic Laser
Our pets have pain issues like we do, especially as they age or even due to an injury. At Terrace Heights Family Pet Clinic, our skilled team uses traditional methods and the pain-relieving properties of our therapeutic laser. Our first laser purchased several years ago has provided non-invasive pain relief to hundreds of our patients suffering from pain issues. Their pain issues ranged from acute injuries to chronic conditions such as arthritis. The therapeutic laser decreases wounds’ healing time, and we use it to promote tissue healing and pain relief for our postoperative patients. If you think your pet can benefit from the pain-relieving abilities of the therapeutic laser, call us! We would be happy to answer any questions you may have and schedule your pet for a laser therapy appointment!
Nutritional Counseling
Nutrition plays an important role in your pet’s health and happiness. We make recommendations based on your pet’s overall health status, age, and sometimes breed. Your pet’s nutrition recommendations may be very specific due to ongoing health concerns such as kidney disease, intestinal disease, and obesity. We offer a wide variety of Hills Prescription Diet Foods that are developed and formulated with the unique age-related nutritional needs of your pet in mind, as well as any specific health concerns. We have a selection of non-prescription foods such as kitten and puppy food to adult and senior food, as well as the Hills Prescription Diet Food. Don’t see your pet’s specific food? Let us know! We would be happy to order it for you. Our food orders are placed Wednesday morning, and most food is shipped to us the following day. Since there is a possibility that there could be a week’s duration before your pet’s food arrives, we suggest that you place your order before Wednesday morning to help ensure your pet’s favorite food isn’t missing at mealtime.
